Pomona and Mt Cooroora Pomona is a heritage country town with Mt Cooroora rising straight up behind it, home of the King of the Mountain race. A historic main street, cafes and the best backdrop on the loop.
Garmin Hill Gyndier Drive is a 3 km climb on the original Cooroy to Noosa road. Noosa Triathlon racers know it as Garmin Hill, and it gets the legs going early.
Yurol Forest Drive Between Cooroy and Pomona the route runs along Yurol Forest Drive, beside the railway line and state forest. Quiet, green and a lovely stretch of road.
Over the Range to Kin Kin From Pomona the road climbs over the range at Pinbarren, the high point of the ride, then drops into Kin Kin, a tiny village tucked into green hills.
The Run Home Dr Pages Road, Lake Flat Road and Louis Bazzo Drive roll through farmland and forest past the Boreen Point turnoff, then it is a flat run home through Cooroibah and Tewantin.
2-for-1 at Land & Sea The ride finishes at the shop, directly across the road from Land & Sea Brewery. Grab a 2-for-1 drinks voucher from us on the way out. Trading hours vary, so check before you ride.

Ride Overview

From the shop the route heads west on Beckmans Road and Cooroy Noosa Road and climbs Gyndier Drive, the hill Noosa Triathlon racers know as Garmin Hill, before rolling on through Tinbeerwah and Lake Macdonald to Cooroy.

From Cooroy, Yurol Forest Drive runs north beside the railway and state forest to Pomona, a heritage town at the foot of Mt Cooroora. The Pomona Kin Kin Road then climbs over the range at Pinbarren, the high point of the loop, and drops into the little village of Kin Kin.

From Kin Kin the route heads east on Dr Pages Road and Lake Flat Road through Cootharaba, then south on Louis Bazzo Drive and McKinnon Drive, with a quieter stretch through the back streets of Cooroibah, into Tewantin and home. It is 80 km with about 680 m of climbing on roads with narrow shoulders and long gaps between towns, so it is a moderate challenge for confident riders. Take plenty of water and food, and start early to be back by 4pm.
